We Are Servants

Robin Arnold says that one of her favorite verses is Matthew 20:28: "Just as the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve." Robin schedules and recruits our ushers. She came to ushering when a friend invited her to serve alongside her. That was over ten years ago. She is thankful that God extended that invitation to usher through a friend. She says, "I am honored to have the opportunity to greet God's children as they arrive to praise Him. Who doesn't want to be the one who welcomes everyone to the greatest party on earth?!"

Ephesians 2:10 tells us that, "We are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Our First Impressions Team Leader, Karen Quintana, puts it this way, "We have been shaped from the very beginning of our lives for a specific purpose. As we discover these gifts, we need to use them freely."

Those who volunteer on a regular basis often tell us that the bonus of serving is the blessing it brings to their own lives. Valeri Ziegler schedules and recruit our Greeters. She describes her experience, "I love meeting new people and seeing familiar faces. I remember how it feels to be new to the church and not know anyone. We have so many people attending, and I want everyone to feel greeted and welcomed."
