Ventura Missionary Preschool loves to provide opportunities for its young students to learn the blessing of extending the gift of grace to others. One such opportunity was the 5th Annual CAN-tree Collection through Food Share, RiverPark and Cumulus Media. The preschoolers collected a total of 550 cans to help feed the hungry in our community.
Next, parents and students participated in a tree building day at The Collection at RiverPark on December 1. Our tree, along with trees built by other organizations, were on display over the weekend for Christmas shoppers to see. After the first of the year, awards will be given in various categories, including the biggest CAN-tree, the most volunteers, best decorated tree by a school, Mayor's Choice and more.
Ventura Missionary Preschool students also brought 196 filled shoe boxes for our recent Operation Christmas Child opportunity. And, throughout the year, they bring food items to contribute to the church's food collection program for Project Understanding. If you would like to extend God's grace to others in this way, bring your donations to the cafe in our lobby. December's focus is canned pasta.
