At Ventura Missionary, we are committed to sharing the transforming love of Christ, and one of the ways we do that is to "Go." We go into our communities and into our world, showing people that we care through word and deed.
On October 23 and 24, over 40 of our Middle School students used their time and talents to serve others. They began this local outreach experience by learning about why we do missions. Then these students spent the first two days of their Fall Break serving over 25 widows and retirees in a local retirement community. They also served meals to over 100 hungry individuals and families at Family to Family (alongside some of our awesome congregation members).
One student said, "I really enjoyed serving God and serving people at the same time." When asked what he liked best about the experience, another student responded, "The expressions on the faces of those we were helping." One elderly resident commented, "Your kids are wonderful! Thank you for bringing them here to help us!"
Our high school students also served this past week (October 27-30) at The Dream Center, doing inner-city missions work. These types of events awaken the hearts of students to the joy of sharing the love of Jesus with others. Way to GO VMC Students!
