Fall Fest 2016 Was Fantastic!

Our first annual Fall Fest was a tremendous success! Hundreds of people of all ages participated in a wide variety of activities and enjoyed the time interacting with their church family and meeting new friends.

The smell of the hamburgers and hot dogs on the bbq permeated the hallways during services - a luring reminder that Fall Fest was about to begin. Six Bounce Houses also made it evident that a lot of fun was at hand. A little after 10:30, the music began. For several hours, talented musicians, Steve Nieves, Jaymes Felix, Gary Stanionis and Marc Hugenberger continued to fill the atmosphere with music that seemed to strike a chord with all generations.

The Shaved Ice and Face Painting Booths were extremely popular. Free cookies and treats provided by our Deacons and Deaconesses, and our Counseling Center, and free drinks provided by our Student Ministries department also drew a lot customers. We also gave out 400 hamburgers and 250 hot dogs to the hungry crowd, prepared by our Men's Cooking Crew, headed up by Dave Macgregor.

Our preschool featured a booth where children were able to "shave" their parents and friends with tongue depressers and shaving cream. They also could play in the shaving cream. "What a great idea!" was heard numerous times during the course of the afternoon.

The balloon animals brought smiles to many young faces.

And then there were the games... something for everyone with activities including a gold fish toss, a ring toss, Duck Duck Match, Ladder Ball, and of course, the Corn Hole Tournament!

Chili Cook-off contestants went all out, decorating their booths and preparing their unique blends of beans, meat and spices. People were encouraged to go around to each booth and taste all the chili entries. Anika Erlenborn and Carlee Stevens took first prize, Elaine Godinez took second, and Gwen Perez took third! Well done, everyone!

Pastor Chad, who had a great time at the event, and competed in the corn hole tournament said, "We'll do this again!"
