Short-Term Mission Trip to Houston - October 2-7
Our team left early October 2 on a short-term mission trip to Houston to assist the homeowners affected by Hurricane Harvey. We'll be tearing out damaged drywall, removing flooring, tarping roofs and clearing debris in partnership with Bayou City Fellowship. Please be in prayer for our team as they serve, that they would truly be instruments of hope to the people of Houston. They will return on October 7.
- October 3 Update: Our team is doing great. Today they helped three families and plan to help another three tomorrow.
Ventura Missionary School student, Savannah Wells has recently moved with her family to Ventura from Houston. Hurricane Harvey has impacted many of her friends, so she wanted to help. She is using her creative gifts to make and sell sea glass jewelry. The response has been phenomenal! The orders were more than she could fill on her own. The church and the school have contributed sea glass and their time to help. Savannah and her dad hand-delivered the $10,000+ she was able to raise for Bayou City Relief. They stayed to help families who were impacted (see video). Savannah was also featured on Houston Fox News while she was there.
Relief Supplies Delivered
Thank you for donating the relief supplies that filled our trailer. Our trailer has delivered those supplies to the church in Houston. The driver, Alex Osiadacz, stayed to do some relief work, but has now returned.
