Hey,  Neighbor!

Jesus said, "Love your neighbor as yourself." Mark 12:31

Responding to the COVID-19 crisis with the love of Jesus

Hey, Neighbor is a way to stay connected to your neighbors while honoring social distancing and to discover ways that you can help with any needs that they have.

We are encouraging people all over the city to print, fill out, and drop off four "Hey, Neighbor" cards to their closest neighbors.

The cards are a simple, fill-in-the-blank style, designed to encourage connection with the people closest to our homes.

Here is what people are saying about their experience using the "Hey, Neighbor" cards:

  • "We went from being neighbors to friends because of these cards and a few texts back and forth."

  • "We've been here for three years and have never met the people across the street! We still haven't, technically, but now we are calling each other every day for quick encouraging talks!"*

*Please let us know about your experience using or receiving a "Hey, Neighbor" card. Email Parkher.

Feel free to get creative as you drop off your card on your neighbors' doorsteps. You could also leave some home-grown fruits or veggies, some hard-to-find staples, a drawing or note from your kids...

OTHER WAYS TO BLESS OUR NEIGHBORS

ENCOURAGING THOSE ON THE FRONT LINES

One great way to bless our neighbors is to encourage those who are on the front lines of helping during the COVID 19 crisis. You can find addresses to some of our first responder headquarters on the tab below. You might also consider encouraging others on the front lines such as grocery and food service workers.
